Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.—Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT)
Holy God,
Search out my heart—and by the continuing work of the power of Christ in me, point out and remove anything that is offensive to You, so I can walk more perfectly with You the path that leads to everlasting life.
I know that in order for me to grow
into the person You want me to be, I must be open to allow You to address any
darkness—any evil thing—that I hold in my heart.
I know that as I allow You to shine the
light of Your love on the hidden places of my heart, that Your light will dispel
the darkness of my sin and bring me ever closer to perfect fellowship with You.
So convict me of any evil that I am
harboring within myself—and put me to the test—so that nothing remains that
might keep me from that close, personal, intimate relationship that You desire
to have with me and that I so desperately need with You.
Search out my heart—and by the continuing work of the power of Christ in me, point out and remove anything that is offensive to You, so I can walk more perfectly with You the path that leads to everlasting life.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
