Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.—Ephesians 4:21-24 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Help me to live in the truth that I have learned from coming to know Your Son, Jesus—as I allow Your Holy Spirit to renew my thoughts and attitudes, so that I fully embrace my new righteous and holy nature in Christ.
Help me daily cast away
and leave behind the sin-filled life that I once lived—a life filled with
self-centered lusts and self-deceptions—as I believed the lies of the enemy and
fell willingly into his many traps.
Help me to allow Your
Spirit to change me—through the cleansing of my thoughts and the correction of
my attitudes—as I study to understand and apply Your Word to my life.
Help me to become more
like Jesus—as by Your power at work within me, I put on His righteousness and
holiness—and willingly walk the path that You have put before me.
Help me to live in the truth that I have learned from coming to know Your Son, Jesus—as I allow Your Holy Spirit to renew my thoughts and attitudes, so that I fully embrace my new righteous and holy nature in Christ.
