In Your Own Image

So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
   male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.

—Psalm 139:14 (NKJV)

Creator God,

I stand amazed at the intricate and marvelous ways that You have fashioned me in Your own image and have uniquely crafted me for Your particular plans and purposes for me individually—and according to the part I play in Your great plan for humanity, as well.

Help me remember not only that I am Your greatly loved creation, but also that You created me in Your own image—that I bear the mark of my Creator, as Your very special creation, and I belong to You.

Help me never to disrespect myself by believing the lies that the enemy would try to get me to believe—lies that are devised to keep me from being all you want me to be—but rather help me to hold onto Your Truth and what it reveals about who I am in Christ and to whom I belong.

Help me to realize that You know me perfectly and that You have always had a plan for me—even before You knit me together in my mother’s womb—that I might bring You glory with my life.

I stand amazed at the intricate and marvelous ways that You have fashioned me in Your own image and have uniquely crafted me for Your particular plans and purposes for me individually and according to the part I play in Your great plan for humanity, as well.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
