If You Ever Forget

“But I assure you of this: If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods, worshiping and bowing down to them, you will certainly be destroyed.  Just as the LORD has destroyed other nations in your path, you also will be destroyed if you refuse to obey the LORD your God.”

Deuteronomy 8:19-20 (NLT)

O LORD My God,

Help us, Your people, to never forget You—by turning our backs on all You have done and worshiping and bowing down to the gods of this world—thereby assuring our own destruction because of our disobedience.

Help us—as individuals, as Your Church, as a nation—to remember Your many blessings to us and Your provision for every need that we have had, and turn our hearts back to You.

Help us to arise from our sleep, repent of our sin, return to our God, and worship You alone—that revival might sweep across our land for Your glory, honor and praise.

Remove not Your hand of mercy and grace from us, but cleanse us from our unrighteousness that You may once again use us for Your glory to change our world for good.

Help us, Your people, to never forget You—by turning our backs on all You have done and worshiping and bowing down to the gods of this world—thereby assuring our own destruction because of our disobedience.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
