Be My Only Hope

Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD,

LORD of Love,

Be my only hope, LORD, as You surround me with Your unfailing love.

Let me never place my hope in my possessions, but help me to understand that what I have is not my own, but Yours alone—and remind me that if it were all stripped away from me today, I would have lost nothing.

Let me never place my hope in other people, but help me to see that other people are just like me: they disappoint, they fail, they let others down—and remind me that even if everyone abandoned me, You would still be with me always.

Let me never place my hope in my position or my strength, but help me to see that You alone have given me the wisdom and power to become who I am and it is You who causes me to stand—and remind me that if all my wisdom and strength was drained from me, You would still uphold me in Your everlasting arms.

Let me place all of my hope in You alone—just as you want me to do—and live in peace knowing it is You who sustains me according to Your unfailing love for me.

Be my only hope, LORD, as You surround me with Your unfailing love.
