Loving Others As You Have Loved Me

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

—Ephesians 4:2 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Let me always love others as You have loved me—humbly, gently, patiently, and compassionately, with great mercy, forgiveness and grace.

Grant me a humble heart—that I might not think more highly of myself than I ought to think—as I acknowledge that any good thing that is seen in me comes only by Your hand.

Help me to be lovingly gentle in all of my dealings with others—remembering at all times that Christ died for every one of us, out of His immeasurable love for us all.

Remind me of the patience, mercy, forgiveness and grace that You show me—every moment of every day—so that I might live out Christ’s patient love toward others at all times.

And help me to make allowances for the faults of others, as I demonstrate my love them—as I remember that all of us are broken in some way and will never be made completely whole again, will never reach perfection, until we come to be with You there.

Let me always love others as You have loved me—humbly, gently, patiently, and compassionately, with great mercy, forgiveness and grace.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
