The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.--Psalm 37:23-24 (NLT)
Heavenly
Father,
Just as an earthly Father makes his hand available to his small child, to lead him and to steady his steps in order to keep him from harm, so have You offered me Your hand to lead me and keep me in the safety of Your firm and unfailing grip.
What an
amazing thought, that You would take pleasure and joy in every detail of my
life—that You want to be intimately involved
with me—as I strive to serve You with
all that I am, from my heart.
Thank You
for directing my steps along the path that You have set before me.
Thank You
that by Your hand You guide me in paths of safety and that even though I am prone
to falter, You will not allow me to fall completely down, because I have given
You my hand.
Thank You
that You are always there to pull me back up when I stumble—to keep me from
being destroyed by the harm that my own inexperience or inattentiveness might
cause me.
Thank You
for offering me Your hand.
Just as an earthly Father makes his hand available to his small child, to lead him and to steady his steps in order to keep him from harm, so have You offered me Your hand to lead me and keep me in the safety of Your firm and unfailing grip.
In the name
of Jesus, Amen.
