Speaking Blessings

‘May the LORD bless you
    and protect you.
May the L
ORD smile on you
    and be gracious to you.
May the L
ORD show you his favor
    and give you his peace.’

—Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT)

Sovereign LORD,

Set before me opportunities to ask for Your blessing upon others, so that they might find hope in Your love for them and be encouraged to share Your love with others—and so I might be reminded of Your blessing upon my own life, as well.

As I speak blessings over others, may the words I speak serve to create in me a heart of gratitude for the blessing that You are to my life.

For it is You who blesses me, protects and keeps me safe in Your arms of love.

It is Your approval alone that I desire and receive, as I seek to serve You with my whole heart—as You smile down on me.

It is by Your merciful, compassionate grace that I am able to stand.

You show Your favor to me by revealing Your face to me and allowing me to know You personally.

And You give me Your peace—a peace that is beyond understanding—to walk in all the days of my life.

Set before me opportunities to ask for Your blessing upon others, so that they might find hope in Your love for them and be encouraged to share Your love with others—and so I might be reminded of Your blessing upon my own life, as well.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
