Taking A New Grip

So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.  Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.

—Hebrews 12:12-13 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Help me not to become weary on this path that You have set me on.

I want to take hold of Your plan for my life daily, with renewed strength and purpose, and move forward through those fears that would weaken my knees and immobilize me, courageously facing the unknown—knowing You are here with me to uphold me by Your strength.

I want to purpose to follow after that straight path of willful obedience to You in every moment of each day, as an expression of my love and gratitude for You.

And may those who are weak and have been injured in this good fight of faith see You at work in and through me and not fall away from a life of service to You, but be encouraged, healed and made stronger—and as I give You all the glory for what You have done.

So, grant me the wisdom to grasp Your plans for me, and the strength, courage and resolve to follow You all the days of my life—as I submit my will to Yours and put all of my trust in You.

Help me not to become weary on this path that You have set me on.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
