As The Day Approaches

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.  Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to demonstrate an unwavering trust in You, by living out my testimony of Your love and kindness for me, through acts of love and good works, as I motivate and encourage others, and as I purpose to seek out the strength I find in fellowship with other believers.

With unwavering faith may I hold tightly to the hope that I have in You and boldly and publicly declare it to be true—knowing You are forever faithful to do everything that You have promised to do.

Show me ways to motivate others—both by my words and by my actions—to do acts of love and good works, that I, too, may be motivated to do the same and that You might be glorified in all of our lives.

Help me not to miss opportunities to grow in faith and strength by meeting with other Christians often—both to give and receive encouragement, help and strength, in the face of the many spiritual struggles that will come, as the day of Christ’s return approaches.

Help me to demonstrate an unwavering trust in You, by living out my testimony of Your love and kindness for me, through acts of love and good works, as I motivate and encourage others, and as I purpose to seek out the strength I find in fellowship with other believers.
