Knowledge Of His Will

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.  Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

—Colossians 1:9-10 (NLT)

Father God,

In all my thirsting for knowledge, let me thirst most of all for complete knowledge of Your will for me.  And to that thirst, add a hunger for spiritual wisdom and understanding—so that I might more freely submit my will to Yours in all things and live in such a way that would honor and please You.

As I search Your Word for knowledge, grant me a full, deep, clear understanding of Your will for me—for knowledge of Your will is the best knowledge I can acquire, so that I am then able to do Your will.

Grant me a more complete understanding of your ways and purposes, and also the spiritual wisdom and discernment I need to effectively apply that knowledge of Your will to the ever changing circumstances of this life—and thereby live in such a way as to always honor and please You.

May my life produce the good fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faith—as I continue to grow and learn to know You better and better every day.

In all my thirsting for knowledge, let me thirst most of all for complete knowledge of Your will for me.  And to that thirst, add a hunger for spiritual wisdom and understanding—so that I might more freely submit my will to Yours in all things and live in such a way that would honor and please You.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
