The Work Of Telling Others

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

—Acts 20:24 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

My life is worth nothing to me if I live it outside of Your will for me—so help me to submit my will to Yours at all times and willingly and obediently do the work that You have placed before me.

My heart’s desire is that I might finish strong, in the days I have left here on earth—by completing the work that You have assigned me through Jesus Christ.

Help me to remember that You have uniquely gifted each one of us—placed within us certain talents and strengths—and called us to use those gifts for Your plans and purposes, to Your honor and glory.

And, while my life may not look anything like the person next to me and the way that we approach the work that You have given us to do may be completely different, the assignment is always the same.

So, let my heart overflow with love for You and for others—so that every thought that comes through my mind is permeated with compassion and an unquenchable desire to share the Good News about Your wonderful grace with others.

May my words always be carefully crafted by Your Spirit—to consistently bring Your message of hope and healing to the lost, hurting and dying.

And may my every action demonstrate and stand as evidence of the truth of this amazing grace that is mine through Your Son, Jesus Christ—so that others might be drawn to You.

My life is worth nothing to me if I live it outside of Your will for me—so help me to submit my will to Yours at all times and willingly and obediently do the work that You have placed before me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
