And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.—Deuteronomy 6:5-6 (NLT)
Dear LORD GOD,
Help me to live in that place where wholehearted obedience freely flows out of me—because I love You with everything that is in me.
Your Word shows me that it
isn’t enough just to say I love You and then go on my way, pouring my heart
into my own pursuits without regard to Your will for my life.
Your Word cries out for me
to have a love relationship with You as it commands me to love You completely—with
all that is within me, so that nothing or no one can take Your place in my
heart.
I want my love for You to
burst from my spirit and flood my mind, will and emotions—so saturating me that
with every ounce of strength in me, I demonstrate my love for You by my every
thought, word and deed.
Help me commit to love You
that way, so that I can experience all the joy and peace that obedience to Your greatest
command will bring.
Help me to live in that place where wholehearted obedience freely flows out of me—because I love You with everything that is in me.
