The Deepest Desires

Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the LORD.
Trust him, and he will help you.

--Psalm 37: 4-5 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

May the deepest desires of my heart, my greatest pleasure and my most complete joy simply be found in being in Your Presence—as I commit all that I do to You and trust You to help me in every situation I face.

This day, may I truly take delight in You and come to know You in a more intimate and personal way by walking in Your Presence—seeking to more completely understand the vastness of Your love for me, the mystery of Your ways, and reflecting on Your steadfast faithfulness to me—so that I might trust You even more.

As I commit all that I do to You, meld my heart’s desires with Your will for my life so that I might walk fearlessly in the plans and purposes that You have for me and bring glory to You in everything that I do—not by my own strength, power or wisdom, but simply as I choose to believe that You will empower and equip me in every way, out of Your great love for me.

May the deepest desires of my heart, my greatest pleasure and my most complete joy simply be found in being in Your Presence—as I commit all that I do to You and trust You to help me in every situation I face.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
