Using Your Gifts Well

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

—1 Peter 4:10-11 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to use well the gifts that You have given to me—out of the amazing grace that You have expressed toward me—to serve others, so that in everything I might bring glory to You, as I live my life in Christ.

Help me not to compare my gifts to the gifts that others have received—by that same grace—but rather help me to understand that the particular uniqueness of my giftedness is granted especially to me in order to fulfill Your plans and purposes, as I allow Christ to live in me.

Help me to use those gifts—as You direct me to use them by Your Holy Spirit—to help others, so that they will see a reflection of Christ in me and give glory to You.

Help me to remember that my ability to use these gifts is dependent on my willingness to allow You to work in me and through me—so that whatever I do in service to others is not done with my own words or in my own strength, but is done with the words, strength and energy that You supply.

In everything I do to help others, let me bring Glory to You through Christ—to whom belongs all glory and power, forever and ever!

Help me to use well the gifts that You have given to me—out of the amazing grace that You have expressed toward me—to serve others, so that in everything I might bring glory to You, as I live my life in Christ.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
