And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.—Ephesians 4:30 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Help me not to bring sorrow to Your Holy Spirit within me, by the way that I live.
I don’t want to be that
guy that takes for granted Your presence and power within me—living my life in
careless offense to Your Spirit, by refusing to submit to Your power to change
me.
Help me to realize that
the degree to which I am conscious of Your presence working within me, and through me, is an
indication of the genuineness of my faith in You—and the closeness of my walk
with You is a sign of my submission to Your Spirit.
Help me to remember that
Your presence within me is the confirmation that I am a child of God, the
assurance that You have secured eternal life for me, and evidence of Your power
at work in me to transform me in the here and now, until that time when my
transformation is made complete in eternity with You.
Help me not to bring sorrow to Your Holy Spirit within me, by the way that I live.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
