Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.—Proverbs 3:7 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
Help me remember that true wisdom comes from the revelation of truth that only You can give.
Help me not to think that
my own intellect and reasoning will produce any wisdom aside from You—but make
me totally dependent on You to reveal the path I should take at every crossroad
along my way.
Help me to reverently fear
and worship You alone and turn my back on all that is evil—having repented of
my sin and determined to seek Your will for me.
Help me always to seek
after Your wisdom—by asking You for wisdom in my prayers, searching for Your
wisdom in the Word, listening for what the voice of Your Spirit would say to my
heart, proving Your wisdom by my actions and choosing the peace and joy that
comes from obedience to Your will.
Help me remember that true wisdom comes from the revelation of truth that only You can give.
