With Everything That Is In Me

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. – Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV)

Dear Lord,

Show me the depths of blessing that Your love holds for me—when I love You with everything that is in me.

Your Word tells me that it is not enough for me to know about You.  It is not enough for me to know who You are. I must love You completely.

I want my love for You to burst from my spirit and flood my mind, will and emotions—so saturating me that with every ounce of strength in me, I demonstrate my love for You.

Help me to love You that way, so that I can experience all the blessings that obedience to Your greatest command will bring.

Show me the depths of blessing that Your love holds for me—when I love You with everything that is in me.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Secret Of Success

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

--Joshua 1:8-9 (NLT)

Dear Heavenly Father,

I don’t want to measure my prosperity in terms of what the world thinks prosperity is, nor do I want to follow its recipe for achieving success by its standards. I want to follow the plan Your Word has given me for making my way prosperous and having good success.

The world would have me believe that to have success I must gain power and influence over people by whatever means possible, all the while amassing fortunes in money and material goods.  But Your Word shows me the true secrets of success.

So, help me to study Your Word continually—that I might know the instruction of Your Word.

Help me to meditate on it at all times—so that Your Spirit might open the Truth of Your Word to me.

Help me to carefully do everything that You have instructed me to do within Your Word, knowing that You have given me these instructions for my benefit—so that I might make my way prosperous and have good success.

Grant me the strength and courage to do the things You have commanded me to do—because the way will not always be easy, but it will always be right.

And help me to know that fear and discouragement can have no place in me—as long as I remember that You, my God, are with me, no matter where I go.

I don’t want to measure my prosperity in terms of what the world thinks prosperity is, nor do I want to follow its recipe for achieving success by its standards.  I want to follow the plan Your Word has given me for making my way prosperous and having good success.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Contentment And Strength

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

--Philippians 4:12-13 (NLT)

Father God,

Help me to remember that in order to be content in every circumstance, I must be not be focused on what I do or don’t have in my life, but rather be focused on the one person whose presence in my life gives me strength for every situation that I face—my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Don’t let me forget that Your vantage point is much higher than mine—that You know and understand all the details of my unfolded life, while I have only a cloudy memory of where I have been, a partial understanding of where I am now, and by Your grace, a mere glimpse of where I am going.

Help me remember that while You haven’t given me the power to accomplish just anything that I want to do without regard to Your perfect plan for my life, in Christ, You have given me the power to do whatever is required to fulfill Your plan.

Help me to keep my mind looking for the things that You want me to do, seeking to understand Your perspective, and drawing on Your power as I face each trail and every trouble that this short life here on earth may throw my way.

Help me to remember that in order to be content in every circumstance, I must be not be focused on what I do or don’t have in my life, but rather be focused on the one person whose presence in my life gives me strength for every situation that I face—my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
