Practicing True Hospitality

When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.

--Romans 12:13 (NLT)

Generous God,

Help me to be not only ready, but eager to help my brothers and sisters who are in need.

I want to be the kind of person who actively looks for opportunities to meet the needs of others—whether they are material, physical, emotional or spiritual in nature—and willingly jumps in to help.

Help me to stay sensitive to Your Spirit as You show me ways that I can be used by You in the lives of others.

Help me to remember that practicing hospitality is not about entertaining someone to make myself look good, as if it was all about me

I want to be the kind of person who keeps his focus on others and their real needs and does what he can to help.

Help me to be not only ready, but eager to help my brothers and sisters who are in need.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
