Paths Of Joy

Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the Lord.
Joyful are those who obey his laws
and search for him with all their hearts.
They do not compromise with evil,
and they walk only in his paths.

--Psalm 119:1-3 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me a path to follow that strengthens me with lasting joy!

Your Word tells me that if I will trust You enough to walk uprightly and follow Your ways, that as I search for You with all my heart, I will find joy—complete and blessed happiness—in You.

Help me to remember that Your instructions are for my benefit, to keep me safe, or out of trouble—not to imprison me, but to set me free to walk in all the blessings that obedience brings—for my own good.

Help me to remember that in order to know You and follow Your will, I must search for You—resolve to persistently and purposefully look for You for myself, to seek carefully and thoroughly for You, with expectation, confident that I can know You personally and intimately.

Your Word further reminds me that in order to stay in this joy, I cannot compromise with evil by walking in any path that is not Your own, so I ask You to help me stay on the path You have instructed me to walk down and remain in Your joy.

Thank You for giving me a path to follow that strengthens me with lasting joy!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
