Create My Heart Again

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

God of Loving Mercy, Grace and Peace,

I need Your loving mercy to pardon my sin. 

I need Your grace to sin no more. 

And I need Your peace to replace the guilt that consumes me.

There are times that I feel so dirtied by the sin that I find in my heart and so powerless to escape it.  

I pray that You would create a brand new, fresh, clean and pure heart in me, just as You created all things brand new, fresh, clean and pure in the beginning.

I pray that You, through Your Spirit, would  intervene on my behalf, redirecting my thoughts and my desires, because I know that my well-being depends on the presence of Your Holy Spirit—alive and active in me—and that my sin separates me from You.

I pray that You would never leave me lost to my darkness, but rather let Your Spirit remain in me always—continually remaking my heart—brand  new, fresh, clean, and pure.

I need Your loving mercy to pardon my sin. 

I need Your grace to sin no more. 

And I need Your peace to replace the guilt that consumes me.
