Light To The Darkness

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

--Psalm 119:105 (NKJ)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to take up the lamp of Your Word and let it light my way.

When I apply myself to study Your Word, I make some great discoveries.

·        I discover things about You—and Your nature.

·        I discover things about myself—and my nature.

·        I discover things about what is right—and what is not.

·        I discover things about what is safe—and what is not.

Because I study Your Word, I discover things I would not know otherwise, because the light of Your Word illuminates the darkness for me and I can see.

Help me to take up the lamp of Your Word and let it light my way.

You gave me Your Word as a lamp to my feet,

So that if I carry that lamp within me, I will not fall, I will not even stumble, neither by my words nor by my actions, as I move through this life.

You gave me Your Word as a light to the path I should follow.

So help me to trust You to illuminate the next steps along the path before me, as I let the light of the lamp of Your Word shine brightly within me, knowing only You know the way that path goes, as You lead me all the way home.

Help me to take up the lamp of Your Word and let it light my way.
