When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”--Genesis 3:8-10 (NLT)
Lord God,
May I always run to You regardless of all my faults, as I sense You seeking after me daily.
You are the
all-seeing and all-knowing God. How foolishly
I pretend to hide my thoughts and actions from You, when in fact I stand
nakedly exposed—in every way—before You.
Help me to
understand Your great desire to have fellowship with each one of us—for it is
the reason You created the heavens and the earth and placed man here and the
same reason You sent Your Son, Jesus, to save us from our sin and to open the
door for us to have renewed fellowship with You.
Thank You
that You continually reach out to me with Your unconditional love—despite the
wrong that I have done—and that Your desire to have fellowship with me is for
my own good, so I can remain under Your protection.
Help me to
respond to that love, not with fear at having not lived up to Your standards,
but in confident faith in the one who covered my sin and in the truth of Your
immeasurable love for me.
May I always run to You regardless of all my faults, as I sense You seeking after me daily.
In the name of
Jesus, Amen.
