By The Spirit's Leading

Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.  Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

—Galatians 5:25-26 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

I know that it is by the power of Your Holy Spirit at work within me that I have life—so help me live out my life by the power of that same Spirit.

By Your Spirit alive and active in me You have shown me the path to eternal life—and by that same Spirit you give me the power to live as I should, in the here and now.

Help me live out every relationship of my life reflecting the salvation that was purchased for me—as from a thankful heart I give You all my praise, as with joy and in strength of fellowship I encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ, and as with Christ-like compassion I reach out to the lost and hurting.

Help me to live every aspect of my life in total harmony with Your Spirit inside me—allowing You to guide my thoughts, emotions, and behaviors at all times—so that I might produce good fruit that pleases You.

Thank You that as I follow Your Spirit’s leading in every moment, You will keep me from thinking more highly of myself than I should, keep me from provoking others, and leave no room in my heart for envy or jealously—so that I can truly live in joy and at peace.

I know that it is by the power of Your Holy Spirit at work within me that I have life—so help me live out my life by the power of that same Spirit.
