The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?—Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)
LORD God
Almighty,
You are the light that shines upon me, the light that shines within me, and the light that shines through me—whom shall I fear, but You?
Though the darkness of the
evil of this world would try to overshadow me and the chaos of this life would
try to drive from me all hope of clarity, order, understanding and purpose, You
shine Your light upon me, showing me the way that I should go—so whom shall I fear,
but You?
Though the shadow of my sin
would try to overcome me, darken my heart, and enslave me within myself, Your
light, which shines bright within me to drive away that darkness, is my
salvation both now and forevermore—so whom shall I fear, but You?
Though I could never
accomplish that which You have called me to do in my own strength or power, Your
light shining through me is my strength—empowering me to be everything You need
me to be—so whom shall I fear, but You?
You are the light that shines upon me, the light that shines within me, and the light that shines through me—whom shall I fear, but You?
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
