Along The Path Of Everlasting Life

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

—Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT)

Holy God,

Search out my heart—and by the continuing work of the power of Christ in me, point out and remove anything that is offensive to You, so I can walk more perfectly with You the path that leads to everlasting life.

I know that in order for me to grow into the person You want me to be, I must be open to allow You to address any darkness—any evil thing—that I hold in my heart.

I know that as I allow You to shine the light of Your love on the hidden places of my heart, that Your light will dispel the darkness of my sin and bring me ever closer to perfect fellowship with You.

So convict me of any evil that I am harboring within myself—and put me to the test—so that nothing remains that might keep me from that close, personal, intimate relationship that You desire to have with me and that I so desperately need with You.

Search out my heart—and by the continuing work of the power of Christ in me, point out and remove anything that is offensive to You, so I can walk more perfectly with You the path that leads to everlasting life.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Remaining In Christ

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

—John 15:4 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Let my first priority always and forever be to remain in Christ—for He is the very source of my life.

Help me always to abide with Him—to remain inseparably linked to Him in every area of my life—and never deny Him or abandon the Truth which He came to declare to all of us.

For it is in Christ—through my openness to receive the full measure of grace and truth that He pours out over me—that I find everything that I need to accomplish every plan and purpose for which He has uniquely crafted and equipped me.

And without Him I cannot produce any good thing—I cannot fulfill Your will for me—and I cannot enjoy the privilege of being used to be a part of the great things that You are doing in the lives of those all around me.

So, help me to be fruitful—producing good works which are a reflection Your amazing love, truth, and grace—so that others might see Christ in me and give You the glory, honor, and praise that You are due.

Let my first priority always and forever be to remain in Christ—for He is the very source of my life.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

My Confident Trust

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!  Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

—Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to hold onto my confident trust in You and patiently endure each struggle I face, as I continue to do Your will while I remain on this earth and expectantly watch for the reward of all that You have promised me in Your Word.

When my strength is spent, my hope is nearly gone and I am tempted to allow my faith in You to slip, remind me of Your unfailing faithfulness to me throughout my lifetime and all the ways that You have blessed me.

Help me to be steadfast in my belief that I am never walking my path alone—that You are always with me—and that Your plans for me include the glorious hope of eternity with You that lies before me.

Then with patient endurance, help me to stand in Your strength as You show me the way forward—so that I can continue to do Your will at all times and bring You glory by my faith.

Help me to hold onto my confident trust in You and patiently endure each struggle I face, as I continue to do Your will while I remain on this earth and expectantly watch for the reward of all that You have promised me in Your Word.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
