Trust With All Your Heart

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
    do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
    and he will show you which path to take.

—Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

Sovereign and Loving LORD,

Today, help me to trust You more.

Help me to lean on You, to trust in You, and to be confident that You have great plans for me today, as I recommit myself to You—not just with some superficial words, but with every part of my heart, soul and strength.

Today, help me not to depend on my own limited insights or understanding of things, but rather help me to trust in Your sovereign, unlimited wisdom and understanding—knowing You love me and always want the best for me.

Help me to seek Your will in everything I do—and be ever mindful of Your Holy Spirit working in each and every detail of the day that lies ahead of me, revealing Your will for me.

Today, help me believe that as I choose to trust You—more than I trust myself—You will show me what I should do and will remove every obstacle from my path, in order to bring me to that place where You have called me to stand and serve.

Today, help me to trust You more.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

The Blessings Of Obedience

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
    Nor stands in the path of sinners,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the L
ORD,
    And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
    Planted by the rivers of water,
    That brings forth its fruit in its season,
    Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

—Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV)

Heavenly Father,

Help me to walk in the blessings of one who is faithfully obedient to Your law—one who delights in and meditates on Your precepts, instructions, and teachings.

I don’t want to be that person who listens to the advice of the ungodly—or who follows after their example of bad behavior—only to find I have been led away from the blessings I find in the Truth of Your Word.

I don’t want to be that person who stands around doing nothing in the midst of an evil people who continue in pursuing their sinful ways—failing to boldly declare the blessings that are found in the Truth of Your Word.

I don’t want to be that person who sits down, joining company with those who would dare to ridicule You and defiantly reject You—mocking the blessings that are made available to all of us in the Truth of Your Word.

I want to be that person that has cultivated a desire to hold Your Word in his heart—whose best joy comes from considering, studying and meditating on the Truth of Your Word at all times, both day and night.

I want to be that person who is like a tree that was planted by the streams of water—nourished, strong and steadfast—producing the kind of fruit that brings blessing to all those around me, as I allow the Truth of Your Word to guide my life and bring glory to Your Name.

Help me to walk in the blessings of one who is faithfully obedient to Your law—one who delights in and meditates on Your precepts, instructions, and teachings.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

My Light And My Salvation

The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The L
ORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?

—Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)

LORD God Almighty,

You are the light that shines upon me, the light that shines within me, and the light that shines through me—whom shall I fear, but You?

Though the darkness of the evil of this world would try to overshadow me and the chaos of this life would try to drive from me all hope of clarity, order, understanding and purpose, You shine Your light upon me, showing me the way that I should go—so whom shall I fear, but You?

Though the shadow of my sin would try to overcome me, darken my heart, and enslave me within myself, Your light, which shines bright within me to drive away that darkness, is my salvation both now and forevermore—so whom shall I fear, but You?

Though I could never accomplish that which You have called me to do in my own strength or power, Your light shining through me is my strength—empowering me to be everything You need me to be—so whom shall I fear, but You?

You are the light that shines upon me, the light that shines within me, and the light that shines through me—whom shall I fear, but You?

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
