My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.—Galatians 2:20-21 (NLT)
Heavenly Father,
May I never forget that it was Your grace alone—Your unmerited favor poured out on me—that saved me from my sin.
Help me to remember that
because—by faith—I have accepted the salvation You provided for me—by Your grace
to me—my old sinful nature no longer has control over me, but it was nailed to
the cross with Jesus and has died.
And now that my old self
has died, Christ has come to live in me so that my life—the life I live in this
body—is lived by trusting in Him, the only one worthy to pay the price for my
sin by dying for me.
Help me always remember
that there is nothing that I could ever do to earn the right to salvation—because
if there was something I could do to earn it, then Christ would have died for
no reason.
Help me never to treat
Your grace as meaningless, but always remember the terrible price that was paid
to set me free from the power of sin over my life.
May I never forget that it was Your grace alone—Your unmerited favor poured out on me—that saved me from my sin.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
